A Wondrous Thing

“Page obviously knew the resource for which he was writing. There is some very effective composition here and I think that it works well in both the SSAA and SATB versions.”

Evening Service in B flat

“I stand in wonder of Page’s very special piece of work ... It surely holds together really well ... and speaks with a different and distinctive voice ... It obviously has considerable power of expression.”
Robin Sheldon
FRCO FRSCM

“I think that this piece is particularly effective. It is a good and concise setting which in style and length is entirely appropriate for liturgical use. The music has an easy flow to it and it is just the sort of setting that I used to enjoy putting down for a Friday evensong at the Cathedral.”
Alan Thurlow
Organist Emeritus, Chichester Cathedral
Lullaby

Lullaby works well in both versions and the music suits the words very well. Page seems always to take great care over that. I like very much the opening and the use of bars with three and four beats which ... is very successful in reflecting the anguish underlying the joy in the words.”
Alan Thurlow
Organist Emeritus, Chichester Cathedral
